Key Takeaways
- No credible ranking of AEO agencies exists right now. AI citations shift by engine, by query language, and over time, so grouping by strength is more accurate than ordering by rank.
- Six externally verifiable evaluation criteria, five of which you can check yourself in about 15 minutes.
- The fastest test: type your industry query into ChatGPT and Google and see which AEO agency surfaces on its own. An AI search agency selling AI visibility while being invisible in AI search is worth asking about.
- Research across 167,551 citations found Perplexity grounds in 15,995 domains while GPT-5.4 grounds in only 3,284. The same AEO agency can appear on one engine and be absent on another.1
How to Read This Article
Every “top AEO agency” list published by an AI search agency carries a conflict of interest. The only honest way to handle it is to say so and design the article so you do not have to trust the author.
Three rules apply throughout:
No ranked order. There is no objective basis for saying which firm is first. Firms are grouped by observable strength, and the order of presentation carries no evaluative meaning.
No competitive performance figures. Brandgineer operates AI visibility tracking, but that data is collected by us using a prompt set we chose. Publishing it in an article where we also appear would not be appropriate. This article contains no performance numbers for any firm, including Brandgineer.
Every criterion is externally verifiable. You do not need to trust the descriptions here. The verification section walks you through running the test yourself in about 15 minutes.
Six Criteria for Evaluating an AEO Agency
These are things you can observe from the outside, not what an AEO agency claims in a capability deck.
1. Does their own site have schema markup
An AEO agency selling AI visibility optimisation should be its own first example.
How to check: paste their homepage and one blog post into Google Rich Results Test. Also view page source and search for application/ld+json.
How to read it: Organization schema with sameAs, plus Article schema on posts, is a good sign. Nothing at all is worth a question. Note that evidence for schema’s direct effect on citations is mixed, so treat this as a signal about practice discipline rather than proof of capability.
2. Named authors on content
Posts signed by a real person with a job title, as opposed to “Admin” or no byline. This is a basic E-E-A-T signal and it also means someone real is accountable for the content.
3. A published methodology
The AI search agency explains what they measure, how, and at what sample size. The opposite is result claims with no method attached.
Test question: do they state how many times each prompt is run? If it is not mentioned, there is a fair chance they run once and report the result as if it were stable, when AI output is probabilistic.
4. Verifiable case studies
A case study with a client name, a time window, a measurement method, and some account of what did not work. A case study that is only a growth number without context has low value.
5. Does the AEO agency itself appear in AI search
The most direct test. Type industry queries into ChatGPT and Google and see who surfaces.
An important caveat when reading the result: absence does not equal incompetence. A firm may be capable but not have invested in its own visibility, and results also vary by engine. This is one signal of six, not a verdict.
6. Capability in both Vietnamese and English
The two engines handle language differently, so strategy needs both. A top AEO agency that can only operate in one language will leave half the problem untouched.
Eight Top AEO Agencies Grouped by Strength
TopOnSeek
Strong in entity SEO and Vietnamese-language content, with a deep content library built over years. How they structure entities is worth studying. Fits when: you need to build entity foundations and Vietnamese content coverage at scale.
Brandgineer
Integrates four areas, SEO/AEO, Creative, Web Development and AI Strategy, into one system on a conversion-first model. The structural difference is that AEO is not separated from the website foundation and the content layer, because in practice most AI visibility problems originate in the technical or content layer rather than in the optimisation work itself. Fits when: your website needs simultaneous improvement in technical quality, content and conversion, and you want to avoid multiple vendors blaming each other when results fall short.
Saigon Digital
Publishes its own methodology and maintains named-author content. These are two E-E-A-T signals not many firms in this market apply consistently. Fits when: you prioritise working with a firm that is transparent about how it measures and how it works.
Midas Agency
Positioned specifically around RAG and retrieval-based GEO, meaning a focus on AI’s retrieval mechanism rather than surface optimisation. Fits when: your problem is retrieval-technical and you want a partner who understands the underlying mechanism.
Artemis Digital
Technical AI SEO with prompt tracking built into their workflow. Fits when: you need website technical issues handled alongside data-driven performance tracking.
SEONGON
Google AI integration with a named methodology framework, oriented toward the Google ecosystem. Fits when: your focus is Google AI Overview and you want a firm with a clearly defined process.
GTVSEO
Large-scale AI content engine with high production capacity. Fits when: you need to cover many topics quickly and have the resources to quality-control the output.
SEODO
AI-enhanced branding, oriented more toward brand building than toward optimising content for citation. Fits when: your need leans toward positioning and brand identity, with AI as a supporting element.
Why This Is Not a Ranking
A fixed ranking of AEO agencies breaks the moment you change engine, change query language, or re-measure a month later.
There are three specific technical reasons.
First, each engine grounds in a very different set of sources. Research on 167,551 URL-grounded citations across 128 brands and 12 markets found Perplexity grounds in 15,995 domains, Gemini in 6,568, and GPT-5.4 in only 3,284. A firm that makes it into Perplexity’s wide source set can easily be absent from GPT’s narrow one.
Second, query language changes which brands get recommended. Research across 35,640 responses in 12 languages found that moving from an English query to the brand’s home language raises recommendation share by 0.80 for local brands, against only 0.15 for global multinationals. The list you get asking in Vietnamese differs from the list you get asking in English.
Third, AI output is probabilistic. The same question asked twice can return two different lists. Professional measurement platforms sample each prompt dozens to hundreds of times for exactly this reason.
The practical consequence: if you see an article ranking AEO agencies 1, 2, 3 with scores attached, ask which engine, which language, and how many runs. Without answers to those three questions, the ranking means nothing.
How to Verify Any Agency Yourself
This takes about 15 minutes and gives you real data instead of a pitch.
Step 1: Write 5 queries exactly as your customers would ask them. In Vietnamese, for example “agency AEO uy tín tại TP.HCM” or “đơn vị nào tối ưu nội dung cho AI search tại Việt Nam”.
Step 2: Run each query 3 to 5 times on ChatGPT and Google. Multiple runs are mandatory, not optional, because results shift between runs. Record the proportion of runs in which each firm appeared, not just yes or no.
Step 3: Record which sources get cited. For Google AI Overview, look at the source links under the answer. Which sources are shaping the answer about your industry? That is the map of where you need to be present.
Step 4: Check the websites of the 2 to 3 firms you are considering. Google Rich Results Test for schema. Disable JavaScript and reload to see whether content is server-side rendered.
Step 5: Compare the results against the capability deck they sent you. If the deck says they lead on AI visibility but your test does not find them anywhere, that is a fair question to put directly in the meeting.
Questions to Ask in the First Meeting
Seven questions that separate firms doing the work from firms selling the concept:
- How do you measure AI visibility, and how many runs per prompt?
- Which engines do you track, and in which languages?
- Is the contract commitment about volume of work or about a result number?
- If my website does not meet technical standards, how is that handled and who owns that part?
- What do you do to build entity signals outside my own website?
- What does the monthly report contain, and how long before we should draw conclusions?
- In what situation would you advise me not to invest in AEO yet?
Questions 3 and 7 are the most revealing. A firm that guarantees a specific citation rate is promising something it does not control. A firm that would never advise a client to hold off is selling rather than advising.

FAQ
Which AEO agencies in Vietnam are worth considering?
The notable firms in Vietnam’s 2026 AEO market include TopOnSeek, Saigon Digital, Midas Agency, Artemis Digital, SEONGON, GTVSEO, SEODO and Brandgineer. Each is strong for a different kind of need, from entity SEO and technical AI SEO to content production scale and integrated web and conversion work.
What criteria show whether an AEO agency has real capability?
Six externally verifiable criteria: their own site has schema markup, content carries named authors, they publish a methodology, they have verifiable case studies, they appear in AI search for industry queries themselves, and they can operate in both Vietnamese and English. The first five you can check in about 15 minutes.
Why should a list of AEO agencies not be ranked?
Because AI citations shift by engine, query language and timing. Research on 167,551 citations found Perplexity grounds in 15,995 domains while GPT-5.4 grounds in only 3,284. A fixed ranking returns different results the moment you switch engine.
Should I choose a specialist AEO agency or an integrated one?
It depends on your website foundation. If the site already meets technical standards, a specialist is enough. If it has technical problems or needs rebuilding, a firm that integrates Web Development with AEO avoids multiple vendors blaming each other.
Should an AEO agency guarantee a specific citation rate?
No. AI output is probabilistic and nobody controls the engines’ algorithms. A reasonable commitment covers volume of work, reporting cadence and measurement method, not a specific result figure.
